Filsafat adalah pengetahuan yentang keterkaitan antara segala sesuatu, pengetahuan tentang totalitas seluruh kenyataan. (Simon:2004,318).Didalam filsafat ada sebuah kajian yang disebut dengan etika.

Etika adalah studi tentang kebenaran dan ketidakbenaran yang didasarkan atas kodrat manusia, yang bermanifestasi di dalam kehendak manusia. (E.Sumaryono:2008, 12) Setiap orang memulai segala sesuatu dari keluarga. Kita sebagai anak memiliki etika yang harus kita jalankan. Setiap anak harus patuh kepada kedua orang tua kita. Kita tidak boleh berbohong kepada orang tua kita, sebaiknya kita harus jujur terhadap mereka walaupun hal itu terkadang sulit tapi jujur lebih baik daripada berbohong.

Selain itu tanggungjawab kita sebagai anak harus memegang teguh kepercayaan yang telah diberikan oleh orang tua kepada kita. Kita tidak boleh merusak kepercayaan mereka dengan melakukan kegiatan-kegiatan negatif seperti seks bebas, minum-minuman keras, narkoba dan lain-lain. Sebagaimana diketahui hal-hal semacam itu dapat merusak diri kita sendiri dan menghancurkan kebahagian orang tua kita. Biasakan selalu berpamitan setiap kali beraktivitas keluar, apalagi kita seorang mahasiswa yang punya berbagai macam kegiatan, setiap kegiatan yang kita lakukan lebih baik dilaporkan kepada orang tua, sehingga mereka tau apa yang kita lakukan diluar.

Mahasiswa di lingkungan kampus juga memiliki etika yang harus dipatuhi. Setiap mahasiswa wajib mematuhi setiap peraturan kampus. Setiap pelanggaran yang dilakukan akan dikenakan sanksi. Kita sebagai mahasiswa harus berperilaku sopan kepada dosen, selain itu kita terkadang sebagai mahasiswa suka melakukan tindakan-tindakan seperti menyontek saat ujian. Hal itu tidak diperbolehkan karena itu melanggar peraturan.
